Project Based Learning in Second Grade

Mr. Mendoza's 2nd grade class recently began a Project Based Learning assignment in Science. The students were tasked with designing and creating a structure that could withstand water.  When I visited their classroom, the students were busy creating their structures. They worked in collaborative groups and used their chosen materials to execute their designs. Some materials used included: Lego bricks, popsicle sticks, balloons, styrofoam cups, straws, tennis balls and unifix cubes. More updates will follow to show their results and completed structures!
